Modern Heating Manifolds: The Central Component of Efficient Underfloor Heating
A heating manifold connects the heat source (such as a heat pump or boiler) to the individual heating circuits of an underfloor or surface heating system. It distributes the flow of hot water to different rooms and collects the cooled return water. This ensures even heat distribution throughout the building without unnecessary losses. Without the manifold, some rooms would be too warm while others remain too cold. A properly adjusted manifold is therefore crucial for both comfort and energy efficiency.
Flow Meters for Precise Control
Modern stainless-steel manifolds feature integrated flow meters on each supply line. These indicators display the actual water flow rate for every heating circuit and can be precisely adjusted. This allows the installer to fine-tune the flow in each room during hydraulic balancing. It prevents short or nearby circuits from being over-supplied while others remain underheated. Only with the correct flow rate does every room reach the desired temperature — otherwise, the entire system would need to run at a higher supply temperature, wasting energy.
Ball Valves with Thermometers
Instead of rigid shut-off valves, our manifolds use ball valves with integrated thermometers. These combine reliability (shut-off function) with temperature monitoring. The small thermometers on the supply and return lines immediately display the temperature of each circuit. This allows you to check whether the temperature difference (Delta-T) is within the target range or if a circuit is returning too cold. Flow and return temperatures can thus be perfectly matched. This way, you always have a precise view of the current system temperatures directly inside the manifold box, without any extra effort.
Automatic Air Vents for Trouble-Free Operation
Air inside the heating system disrupts heat transfer and wastes energy: air pockets in the circuits reduce water flow and force the pump to work harder, increasing electricity use and causing uneven operation. Our manifolds are therefore equipped with automatic air vents. These compact valves continuously remove trapped air from the system, ensuring smooth operation. They prevent air bubbles from blocking circulation or overloading the pump. As a result, the underfloor heating remains fully water-filled, quiet, and consistently efficient.
